This Summer, Escape To These Fashionable Spots

It’s June, which means the first official day of summer is just a week or so away. If you, like us, are in London, you’re certainly missing that heat wave that washed across the city last month, because in the days since, the weather has been as typically temperamental as the UK has become stereotyped for; rain then shine, then rain again… a volatile climate that can’t ever seem to make up its mind. So with that in mind, you’re liking looking, tunnel vision ahead, for you next sunny escape – but this doesn’t have to be some average holibobs. Instead, get your tan on at Dolce & Gabbana’s Sardinian hotel takeover or kick back and relax with Gucci in Monte Carlo. There’s plenty of fashion-meets-beach resort type of collabs to pick from, making your escape from the city as high class as your premiere plane tickets. Live in luxury this summer; explore the best destination takeovers below. Emily Phillips

Gucci – La Rose des Vents, Monte Carlo

Gucci is bringing a little Italian glamour to the Riviera this summer. The House has taken over La Rose des Vents, Monte Carlo, transforming the Monaco beach club into a full-blown Flora fantasy awash with colour, texture and blooms. Running from May through to October, the seasonal installation marks Gucci’s return to Monaco while celebrating 60 years of its iconic Flora motif. First created in 1966 by illustrator Vittorio Accornero for Princess Grace of Monaco at the request of Rodolfo Gucci, Flora remains one of the house’s most enduring signatures. Now, six decades later, those famous flowers have escaped the silk scarf and spread across the interiors of one of Monte Carlo’s chicest seaside spots. To toast the occasion, Gucci hosted an intimate gathering at the club on June 6, welcoming friends of the house to the floral-filled setting.

The Monaco connection doesn’t stop there. Gucci has also unveiled an exclusive capsule available only at its Monte Carlo boutique and online, featuring ready-to-wear and accessories rendered in rich shades of red. For those chasing a Gucci summer elsewhere, dedicated seasonal collections have also landed across the brand’s resort destinations, from Capri and Ibiza to Saint-Tropez and Mykonos. Consider it a passport stamp for the stylish set. EP

Dolce & Gabbana – Hotel Cala di Volpe, Sardinia

Dolce & Gabbana is back on the Costa Smeralda. For summer 2026, the Italian house has returned to the legendary Hotel Cala di Volpe with a fresh DG Resort takeover, splashing its signature Maiolica motif across one of Sardinia’s most glamorous addresses. Perched above the hotel’s postcard-perfect bay, the transformation centres on the Atrium Bar’s twin terraces, now wrapped in Maiolica Gialla – a new sunshine-yellow take on the brand’s beloved ceramic-inspired print. Think hand-painted vases, decorated cabanas and enough Mediterranean charm to rival the view itself.

Originally designed by French architect Jacques Couëlle in the 1960s, Cala di Volpe has long been a magnet for the jet set. This season, Dolce & Gabbana adds another layer of Italian escapism, bringing its colourful world to the hotel’s winding terraces and sea-facing corners. A dedicated pop-up boutique completes the picture, stocked with an exclusive edit of ready-to-wear and accessories designed for long lunches, yacht days and balmy evenings on the Sardinian coast. Dolce & Gabbana is making a strong case for Cala di Volpe as one of this summer’s most stylish destinations. EP

Zegna – Chateau Marmont, Hollywood

Ending today, Zegna has brought its Italian style to the predilected gathering place of Hollywood’s A-listers, Chateau Marmont. Opening right after the Zegna SS27 fashion show on the Malibu Pier, the house reimagined a bungalow within the storied hotel as an invite-only private club using the brand’s laid-back aesthetic to create an Italian Villa. Inspired by La Villeggiatura, the Italian habit centred around the pleasure of seasonal living, it’s all about temporarily relocating your life for a season as opposed to simply vacationing.

When guests enter Villa Zegna, they’ll feel as if transported into the heart of a ‘70s private residence or an Italian holiday home; think Lago di Como meets LA’s Spanish architecture. Inside, fragments of the brand’s expansive history are peppered across the space via a sequence of immersive environments, emulating the feeling of a family album come to life. Guests will be welcomed by the dandy characters who inhabit the space including a butler handling personal letters and room keys, a gardener caring for the plants and a bartender ready to prepare the Zegna’s family favourite cocktails. Meanwhile, the projection room showcases images and films that capture moments of the house’s history. Outside, guests can dip into the pool and experience Italian summer rituals at the Italian edicola (newspaper stand) that will offer newspapers, postcards, gelati, candies and iconic Italian drinks. With just a half a day left, don’t sleep on Sunset Boulevard’s little slice of Italy. AM

Etro – The St. Regis Atlanta

Etro is bringing a dose of Milanese maximalism to Atlanta this summer. The Italian fashion and lifestyle house has partnered with The St. Regis Atlanta to transform the hotel’s Pool Piazza into a sun-soaked showcase of colour, pattern and old-school glamour. At the heart of the takeover is a bespoke Etro fabric created exclusively for the property, reworking the brand’s iconic paisley motif in swirls of pink, blue and green set against a punchy canary-yellow backdrop. The print now stretches across umbrellas, awnings, accent cushions and even staff uniforms, turning the Buckhead hotel’s pool deck into a slice of la dolce vita.

The collaboration arrives just after The St. Regis Atlanta secured Forbes Travel Guide’s coveted Five-Star rating, adding another layer of luxury to the property’s 40,000-square-foot Pool Piazza. Beyond the pool, Etro’s signature touch extends to the hotel’s Bar Terrace, creating a seamless visual thread throughout the resort. For Etro, the project marks its first hotel takeover in the United States following a series of hospitality collaborations in Italy. For guests, it’s a colourful invitation to spend the summer poolside surrounded by one of fashion’s most recognisable prints. Consider it the chicest way to beat the Atlanta heat. EP
