Comme des Garçons Transforms Dover Street Market Paris with New Courtyard Installation

Dover Street Market Paris gets a colourful makeover. A new installation conceived by Rei Kawakubo and unveiled on June 26, transforms the courtyard’s industrial metal pillars into sculptural forms wrapped in vividly coloured Comme des Garçons flags. Set in the historic courtyard, the installation creates a contrast between the old and the new. Saturated reds, yellows, blues, pinks and blacks drape around the metallic cylinders, whilst the oversized CDG graphics blur the line between branding, sculpture and architecture, turning a simple walk through the courtyard into wandering through a playful forest of fabric. Wales Bonner Refines the Art of Ease

Wales Bonner’s SS27 Sun Poem range feels effortlessly refined. Unveiled as a lookbook, the collection builds on the house’s signature combination of tailoring and athleisure whilst introducing rich combinations of texture with embossed leathers and embroidery that add depth without overpowering the silhouettes. The layering of crisp shirts beneath athleisure jackets is elegant, creating looks that feel considered yet relaxed. It balances both craftsmanship and wearability resulting in a wardrobe that feels timeless. The python-embossed pieces have Shoreditch House twink written all over them. AM

Charles Jeffrey Loverboy Blurs Fantasy and Reality

The patron saint of CSM Fine Art students, Charles Jeffrey, delivers an SS27 men’s collection that feels as much a performance piece as a lookbook during men’s fashion week. Aeolian Afternoon delves into a surreal television universe where the analogue craft clashes with the digital. Distorted tailoring, mud-streaked denim, sculptural layering and deliberately wonky knits embrace imperfection, whilst handcrafted embellishments and Renaissance inspired colours soften the collection’s chaotic energy. At Its core, the collection champions the DIY spirit in an era increasingly shaped by doomscrolling. It’s theatrical, messy and unmistakably Loverboy. AM

Nicholas Daley Weaves Music into Menswear

Drawing from the spiritual jazz movement of the 1960s and 1970s, Nicholas Daley‘s SS27 collection Sonic Tapestry, unveiled via lookbook, proves that great menswear sounds just as good as it looks. Patchwork takes centre stage, with the closing look’s jacket crafted from archival fabrics that celebrate the brand’s decade long commitment to sustainability. Handwoven knitted hats and vibrant tie-dye keep things playful, whilst workwear, tailoring and handmade textiles come together in a collection that feels warm, lived in and unmistakably Daley. AM

DERRICK SS27 Makes Performance Look Polished

Derrick‘s Compression SS27 collection explores the intersection of tailoring and sportswear, disappearing the boundaries between heritage and performance. Unveiled as a lookbook during men’s fashion week, the collection draws on British and American athletic dress, reinterpreting familiar classics such as: Oxford bags, boating jackets and oversized tuxedo shirts using technical fabrics and relaxed proportions. Waterproof silk-blend gabardine and silicon-dipped cotton give traditional silhouettes a contemporary edge, creating a wardrobe that feels both classic and edgy. That trench coat layered over bright yellow biker shorts is the perfect uniform for an overpriced matcha and a very performative sense of urgency. AM

French Chic Meets Miami Heat at Alaïa

Wake up, its 35 degrees! grab your Cuban Cafecito, we’re in Miami. The new Alaïa boutique is already the talk of the Design District, bringing the maison’s unmistakable French sensibility to the city. From the fluid dresses to the signature ballet flats, every corner of the space feels designed for Miami’s polished ease, with Bal Harbour and a lunch at Makoto never too far from mind.

Designed by long time collaborators Halleroed, Alaïa’s first Miami boutique reimagines the city’s Art Deco heritage through curved geometries, soft pink mosaics and sculptural forms. A lush planter by French botanist Patrick Blanc extends the House’s dialogue with nature, whilst collectible furniture by Martin Brûlé and design icons including Philippe Starck and Ron Arad completes the space. The result is a boutique that brings Alaïa’s universe to Miami with understated elegance and perfect harmony. AM

McQueen does it again, showcasing the house’s history to a new generation with Documenting McQueen, its ongoing digital series featuring Central Saint Martins professor Alistair O’Neill. The latest episode explores one of the brand’s signature motifs, the skull, tracing it back to the 1990s. Some outstanding moments where it was featured include the launch of the signature Skull Scarf in 2003 and the custom skull print dress created for Kate Moss in 2004. The latest instalment celebrates one of McQueen’s most enduring house codes and its continued use under creative director Seán McGirr. AM

ADONIS MAKES A ZINE FOR PRIDE

Gird your loins, gals, London pride is here. For all you club rats, you’re spoilt for choice as to where to spend your weekend partying – whether it’s at Howl and Sextou, both in Hackney Wick, Club Are in Shoreditch, or Adonis, which alongside its big Saturday day party at The Cause will be teaming up with Berlin’s Power Dance Club for a good ‘ol sweatfest at Venue MOT. Max Allen and Kurtis Lincoln have teamed up to create a zine for Adonis’ pride celebrations, featuring contributions from the party’s extended community as well as images of the installation the pair have created for Adonis’ summer parties – inspired by queer flyers, badges and ephemera found in the Bishopsgate Archive. If you’re after a pre-pride knees up, the pair are launching the zine tonight at Tramp’s Bar, with music provided by resident DJ Jeffrey Hinton. Buy your copy here. Paul Toner
