Noir Kei Ninomiya: Ready-To-Wear AW22

Noir Kei Ninomiya hatched otherworldly creatures with its latest presentation in Tokyo. Raves are returning, and with that, the designer aims to captivate the entire club with his glow-in-the-dark neon accents and galactic silhouettes.

Ninomiya dived deep for his motifs this season. Contours of structural tulle and cocooning dresses mimicked the mysterious beauty of the ocean depths, from algae to anemones. Gothic frills were transformed to punk with neon trims of pink and green phosphorescent material that shone bright in the dark.

Bubblegum hues infused floral prints and juxtaposing geometric spikes, which moulded around the body between tulle. In a stark contrast, precise tailoring came undone with zips that fabricated flowing fringes and crisp peplum waists. Extraterrestrial headpieces created by Amazing JIRO encased models’ faces in wires which evoked a network of neurons that levitated around their heads. Nothing is conventional in Noir Kei Ninomiya’s world.
