Dior Goes Celestial With New Rose Des Vents Additions

Dior knows the way. For the latest Rose des Vents fine jewellery collection, an offering inspired by a navigatory mosaic on the floor of Monsieur Dior’s Granville childhood home, Dior Joaillerie artistic director Victoire de Castellane is once again tapping into the dream-like transience of a windswept voyage. Magical by nature, a selection of Rose Céleste pieces looks to the stars and beyond for inspiration. In a double-strand necklace, bracelet and earrings, the eight-pointed star is joined by the moon and the sun in playful asymmetry, complemented by an aurora borealis of blue, green and orange agates, sapphires, garnet and golden mother-of-pearl. Elsewhere, the rose des vents itself manifests as a necklace and bracelet, shining among a flurry of glistening mother-of-pearl, tiger’s eye, pink opal and turquoise gems. The collection also features a secretive timepiece hidden behind a medallion amongst a selection of pendants depicting core symbols of the house (like the bee and the lily of the valley) that can be worn as either a sautoir or adorning a belt, and will run in a limited edition issue of just 15. Out now, you don’t have to just wish to the stars for jewellery like this. Get yours now here. James Hughes

Saint Laurent Spotlights Andy Warhol

From The Factory of the ‘60s to 213 rue Saint-Honoré today, Andy Warhol’s staying power in our culture has held stronger than most others across time. But while it’s his silkscreen prints and paintings that stick out in most of our minds, Anthony Vaccarello, creative director of Saint Laurent, is spotlighting the pop artist’s photography work in a new exhibition, Banal Objects. Presented itinerantly across Saint Laurent Rive Droite locations, Banal Objects is a series created by Warhol in the late ‘70s that transformed the items we come across in everyday life into works of art in their own right. Through the unpolished immediacy of the Polaroid camera, Warhol deconstructed hierarchical notions of aesthetic and cultural value, prompting the viewer to consider what can really be classified as “art” and continuing Vaccarello’s mission to expand the YSL universe steeped in democracy. Now on view at Saint Laurent Rive Droite Paris, the exhibited works will be available for purchase before moving to the brand’s Los Angeles, New York and Beijing locations. Find out more hereJH

Niwaki Highlights The Green In Camo

The grass is green, so why not those fingers? This summer, Japanese hardware (but make it fashion) store Niwaki is serving up some delectable tools to make your garden party-ready. Niwaki Camo is designed for the fashionable handyman and woman, so the collection involves an array of tools as well as limited edition workwear. Niwaki founder, Jake Hobson, has worked with London-based Japanese illustrator Natsko Seki, to create sculptural, textural details of the bold architecture within a traditional Japanese garden. Some key features include the Kantan bag, Daikon tote, Split front apron and a bucket hat, amongst a gentle landscape of beige, pink, yellow, green and orange tones. Dig in here. Lillie Elston

The Four Petals Of De Beers

De Beers is revisiting the Lotus motif – first introduced in 2009 as a notion of resilience and transformation, it’s now reimagined through a special installation. Award-winning Scottish artist Jessica Rose Bird has hand-painted her iteration of the De Beers Lotus on the windows of the flagship Bond Street boutique, with the installation on view until May 15. An accompanying collection features an array of earrings, rings and pendants in white and rose gold, each created to match the daily rhythms of its wearer, from day into night, lounging around to on-the-move. 55 Years Of Mulberry In The Bag!

Apparently five is the magic number, now. To celebrate 55 years of the brand and five solid years of its Made To Last manifesto, leather pro Mulberry has created a limited edition range of bags in collaboration with British Pasture Leather. Four classic-inspired designs rear their heads; the Boston in an Antique Oak colourway, the classic Bayswater in Vintage Ebony, topped off with the Darley Cosmetic pouch and a Zipped pouch. Each design perfected at The Rookery, Mulberry’s Somerset factory, was made using vegetable-tanned leather to create only the best tones to match whatever you are wearing.
