Federica Cavenati, Co-Founder of 16 Arlington, Has Passed Away Aged 28

We are deeply saddened to hear the news that Federica Cavenati, co-founder of independent, London-based label 16 Arlington, has passed away, aged 28. Known to those closest to her as Kikka, Cavenati tragically passed on October 18, 2021, after a sudden and short illness.

The Italian designer co-founded 16 Arlington alongside her life partner, Marco Capaldo, in 2017. The pair met when Cavenati moved to the UK to study at London’s Istituto Marangoni, and have since established themselves as two of British fashion’s brightest emerging talents. Building their business on the ethos of “questioning the idea of glamour with an infectious eccentricity”, Cavenati and Capaldo fashioned classic eveningwear with a cool girl energy, dressing dancefloors far and wide. Stars such as Lady Gaga, Solange Knowles, Lizzo and Lena Dunham have all worn pieces by the label, with Dunham describing Kikka as “a vibrant and present person who showed up to life with Olympic vigour”. In June 2021, the pair launched their first bridal wear collection.

In a statement released by Raven PR, it was announced that Capaldo will present an unseen collection in her honour in February 2022. Our thoughts are with Capaldo, Kikka’s family and all those who loved her.
