Emporio Armani And Our Legacy Work Shop Are Back With A Second Collab

If you missed out on the first Emporio Armani link-up with Our Legacy Work Shop, you’re in luck. The Italian fashion giant has reunited with the Swedish cult label for a second capsule that revisits and reimagines key codes from the Armani archive.

“To design within the boundaries of what already exists is a challenge – but also an opportunity,” says Cristopher Nying, Our Legacy’s creative director, who reworked pre-existing fabrics and trims in the Armani arsenal to envision the collection. “These fabrics carry history. Seeing them return in a new form made the entire process unexpectedly rewarding.”

Armani fanatics far and wide will be thrilled with the many Armani-isms that populate pieces. Think reimagined attire made from classic Armani fabrics with recognisable trims and clothes featuring recreated vintage Armani fabrics developed exclusively by Our Legacy exclusively for this project. References to traditional East Asian attire are rife with kimono-style overcoats, slippers and pocket-lining motifs. This time around there’s womenswear too, arriving in the shape of slouchy jackets, pinstripe trousers, one-piece swimsuits, crisp denim jeans and tactile waistcoats.

Lensed by Alasdair McLellan, the accompanying campaign sees laid-back black-and-white portraits sit alongside sun-soaked still lifes cast in a burnt orange haze. Shot on Pantelleria, a remote volcanic island in the Mediterranean that’s also served as a longtime retreat for Mr Armani, the images seem to meditate on the interplay between nature and refinement, distilling the isle’s rugged serenity into a visual language that speaks to Armani’s enduring aesthetic and Our Legacy’s material expertise.

Launching Friday, May 16 with a special installation at the Armani/Manzoni store in Milan and in-store installations at DSM London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles and Ginza, the collection will be available to shop in Our Legacy stores in Stockholm, London, Berlin and Seoul, at Work Shop Stockholm and at selected wholesale partners.
