Peter Philips, the creative and image director of Christian Dior Makeup, is always thinking outside the box; when he met the Japanese actress and model Yuko Araki he seized on the opportunity to have a little fun. “We have gone through a period of extreme false lashes and lash extensions,” says Philips, who is ready for a mascara revival. “I think the benefit of traditional mascaras – the opportunity to do a bold or delicate application – is getting its recognition back.”
