As winter paints the world in shades of frost, Alaïa is ready to ignite a literary spark in collaboration with the esteemed Rare Books Paris. Nestled within the cosy confines of a private residence, Rare Books is not your average bookstore – it’s a treasure trove of limited editions, out-of-print gems and rare tomes, featuring collectibles from the realms of fashion and art.
From November 27 to January 4, Alaïa’s Paris Marignan and London New Bond Street boutiques will play host to a literary extravaganza. Rare Books Paris, the bibliophile’s haven, will set up shop within these fashion sanctuaries, creating a fusion of style and intellect that is nothing short of enchanting.
Curated by the discerning eye of Pieter Mulier, a unique selection of books will grace the pop-up stores. But that’s not all. Alaïa, true to its commitment to craftsmanship, unveils a bespoke treat for book enthusiasts – a customizable Alaïa bookmark. Crafted in pure leather and inspired by the Maison’s signatures, this bookmark isn’t merely a page-holder, it’s a tangible piece of art, a new iconic artefact designed for collectors and those who revel in the tangible beauty of literature.
This collaboration is more than a retail venture; it’s a graceful convergence between fashion and literature, a creative nod to Alaïa’s unique vision and philosophy. Books, according to Pieter Mulier, lead to beauty – they are our best allies and our most precious legacy. In his own words, “One of the objects I own and cherish the most is a book on Le Corbusier that used to belong to my grandfather.”
As the winter wind whispers through the streets of Paris and London, Alaïa and Rare Books Paris beckon you to experience a season of literary splendour. It’s not just about the clothes you wear, it’s about the stories you carry with you. So, let this collaboration be a reminder that in the midst of winter, there is an invincible summer – a literary affair waiting to unfold.
