All the gorgeous Chloé girls came out to play, in flouncy chiffon, high-waisted denim flares, cavalier boots and tan leather jackets, swinging their bracelet bags and beach hair. The audience, (Sienna Miller, Karlie Kloss, Selma Blair, Diane Kruger, Jessica Miller) turned out in force wearing Chemena Kamali’s debut collection for the house. The hottest debut of the season, it has sold out everywhere.
The mood for her second collection was sunny (just how the Chloé girl likes it). Kamali looked to the history of Chloé, zeroing in on the flounce and femininity and of Karl Lagerfeld’s 1977 and 1978 Chloé collections. An abundance of delicate lace for bloomers, harem pants, bras, camisole dresses – it even trimmed swimsuits – set the feminine tone.
She then built out this delicate look with more casual and substantial pieces. High-waisted jeans, the flared trouser suits approved by Kamala Harris (in cream or black for summer) and a pink flamingo swim suit that channeled the McCartney/Philo era at the house. The all important details are never overlooked. Mini pouch bags, oversized sunnies, gold shell jewellery, squishy, multi-pocket camera bags and jelly platforms complete the look.
One Chloé devotee dressed head-to-toe in the AW24 collection summed it up. “I’m in trouble,” she swooned to a friend, “I want everything!”
