Loewe has named it new creative leads. Jack Mccollough and Lazaro Hernandez, founders of Proenza Schouler, will succeed Jonathan Anderson, who exited the brand last Monday after 11 years at its helm.
In a statement, the pair wrote: ‘We are incredibly honoured to join Loewe, a house whose values and mission align closely with our own. We look forward to working alongside its extraordinary teams and artisans, whose talent – under the exceptional creative direction of Jonathan Anderson – has shaped Loewe into the cultural force it is today.”
In January, the design duo announced they were stepping down as creative directors of Proenza Schouler, the brand they founded 22 years ago.
“We founded Proenza Schouler in our early 20’s and have had an extraordinary journey, one that we could have only dreamed of back then,” wrote the designers. “We feel fortunate to have had the freedom over the years to consistently push our creative boundaries and hone our craft while slowly building a solid and stable brand.”
Bursting onto the scene straight out of Parsons after selling their graduate collection to Barneys New York, Mccollough and Hernandez have spent over two decades as darlings of the New York fashion scene. Over the years, the design duo has won five CFDA Awards, including Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2007, 2011, and 2013.
A massive congratulations to Jack and Lazaro!
