The collection launching worldwide today (thanks to that Riri-approved see-now, buy-now format) is the next chapter in the growing opus of retro athleisure inspired by the singer’s personal style. The simple lines of hoodies and tees are merged together with sharp tailoring, towering heels and mini skirts in a mish-mash of decades and styles. But what seems the most prominent inspiration is a 1990s working girl, her pastel-hued two-piece now shortened with the jacket turned into an oversized jumper. Think Ariana Grande after raudubg the wardrobe of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. Slick monochrome silhouettes and statement accessories add Riri’s Midas touch in this collection that, when broken down, seems to be consisting of updated wardrobe classics everyone could use in the next few months. The clear standout piece and the topper of our shopping list for the season is the double-layered satin blazer that can double as a dress should you be that girl.
