Ten Loves: Ugg X JW Anderson Capsule Collection

Ugg has always had a bit of Californian panache to it – surfing, sun, and the sort of footwear that elevates the rituals of everyday life. Meanwhile, Jonathan Anderson’s eponymous label JW Anderson plays with colour and shape to put its own spin on things, making the familiar feel like something else entirely. For the first time, these two worlds are colliding in for a unisex footwear collection fronted by Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange. The campaign is rooted in the regular, showcasing the musician lounging around in the various silhouettes and emphasising the beauty in the simple act of getting dressed when you have some fun pieces to play with.

Launching on October 15, the London-based brand gives some of Ugg’s most familiar shapes a new look. The Tasman and the Classic Boot reemerge as the Ugg JW Anderson Loafer Boot and Ugg JW Anderson Loafer, drawing from the box-stitching and rounded toe of a penny loafer while keeping Ugg’s signature cushioning and materials. The collection comes in three colour ways: khaki, orange and chestnut – a noticeable pivot away from the brand’s commitment to its usual earthy-toned palette. It’s a small intervention, but an impactful one. Pairing Anderson’s aptitude for flipping fashion staples on their head with the indisputable comfort and staying power of Ugg, the shoes can be dressed up or down, and do all the work for you.
