Some ethically uplifting news for fashion fans and animal lovers today- Versace has announced that it is going fur free. That’s right, Donatella herself told The Economist‘s 1843 Magazine that the brand will no longer be using fur in its collections. “Fur? I’m out of that,” she said. “I don’t want to kill animals to make fashion. It doesn’t feel right.” Donatella, we couldn’t agree more. Nobody should die for fashion, unless of course, it’s in the sense that something is so killer-amazing that upon seeing it you can’t help but scream “ I die, I’m dying, I’m dead!”. Following Armani and Gucci’s announcements last year that they are going fur free, Versace is another Italian power house leading the way, for the rest of the fashion world to follow suit. We look forward to many fabulous fur free fashion seasons to come!
