THE OSCARS 2016 RED CARPET ROUND UP

Unless you happen to be been living under a rock or were on a self enforced social media blackout, you will know that last night was the night of the Oscars 2016, or if you prefer the 88th Academy Awards. And what a night it was. Just the sheer beauty of Heidi Klum’s outfit was so immense we couldn’t even include it in our round up for we fear that you would not be able to handle the beauty. So without further ado, our top ten ladies of the red carpet who wowed in breathtaking fashions. Julianne Moore did A-list movie star to perfection in floor length Chanel Haute Couture tweed while Lady Gaga did her best Gene Harlow in Brandon Maxwell, provoking the question, is that actually Lady Gaga or has Gene risen from the dead? Daisy Ridley channeled her inner heir to an intergalactic throne in silvery Chanel Haute Couture, because if you’re the possible spawn of Luke Skywalker that technically makes you intergalactic royalty and so you really should dress the part.Tina Fey was a vision of elegance in Atelier Versace putting to rest that age old question, can aubergines be sexy? Yes they can. Sarah Silverman was all about some fishtail eleganza and vampiness in a strapless Zac Posen number, while Emily Blunt, for want of a better word glowed with radiant beauty in pale Prada. Saoirse Ronan gave us underwater sultriness in Calvin Klein Collection, pulling off what we will call fishy sexiness in a column of deep green sequins while Charlotte Rampling looked chic and stately in Armani Prive. Rooney Mara introduced us all to a new erogenous zone, namely her navel in cut out Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci and rounding off our round up was the one and only Jennifer Lawrence in a sheer black and ruffly Dior Haute Couture number that Vanity Fair described as both daring and funky.
