MARC JACOBS Pays homage to STEPHEN SPROUSE with limited-edition tote bag

Marc Jacobs has unveiled a limited-edition tote bag to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his namesake brand. To inspire the design, the designer revisited his groundbreaking collaboration with the legendary American designer and artist Stephen Sprouse, which stemmed from when a young Marc Jacobs first discovered Sprouse’s graffiti prints in 1984. The pair famously came together during Jacobs’ tenure as creative director of Louis Vuitton to deliver a Sprouse-coded spring/summer 2001 collection for the house.

While Jacobs’ time at Louis Vuitton has ended and Sprouse tragically passed away in 2004, their impact lives on. This summer’s limited-edition tote bag, created in tandem with the estate of the late-artist, is a testament to their enduring partnership, and featuring a playful quote from Sprouse’s archive – “Grant me the serenity to chill” –, it’s a must-have for any fashion fan. The campaign, starring iconic supermodel Christy Turlington alongside Lil Uzi Vert, is shot by Nick Newbold and styled by Alastair McKimm, offering a perfect blend of nostalgia and fresh perspective.
