Palais de Tokyo spotlights Pomellato

Italian jewellery brand Pomellato unveils its new exhibition, Pomellato: The Revolutionary Jeweller, at Palais de Tokyo, which chronicles the brand’s campaigns throughout the 20th century. These campaigns were revolutionary, bridging a dialogue between fashion and jewellery as the first maison to collaborate with avant-garde fashion photographers, including works from the likes of Gian Paolo Barbieri, Helmut Newton, Albert Watson, Horst P. Horst, Javier Vallhonrat, Michel Comte, and, for the first time, images by Herb Ritts. Combining goldsmithing and storytelling, Pomellato: The Revolutionary Jeweller opens to the public for free with reservation from June 24. Discover the exhibition here.

Maharashi Taps Aitor Throup

Maharashi and Argentinian designer Aitor Throup have teamed up for a new collaborative project called Anatomy of Peace. Maharshi’s founder, Hardy Blechman, and Throup bring together their unique design language, plus 15 years of friendship, into this pacifist military clothing drop. Military kimono jackets and hakama trousers are printed with a hybrid camouflage pattern which reflects both artists’ identities. The pattern features an anti-camo peace dove across the garments, which collaborates with Maharashi’s pacifist sensibility and Throup’s conceptual approach to narrative design. With military silhouetting and utilitarian details, the project is conceptually rich and visually exciting.
