LOUIS VUITTON: SUPPORTS INFINITE KUSAMA AT TATE MODERN

To coincide with their sponsorship of the Yayoi Kusama retrospective which opened yesterday at London’s Tate Modern, Louis Vuitton’s Young Arts Project have devised a series of interactive experiences to engage 15 to 25 year olds, centering around an immersive afternoon of workshops on March 24th, and concluding with the launch of an online competition to create a Kusama inspired art work on the theme of obsession. With both the Young Arts Project and REcreativeUK.com, devising the grand prize of a visit to Yayoi’s studio in Japan. The centrepiece of these workshop events will be The Hello Cube, an interactive digital installation inspired by Kusama’s ‘The Passing Winter’ and designed by Hellicar & Lewis (pictured). Though both works require the viewer to peer into an unassuming box, to view a dancing display of colours, The Hello Cube has been engineered to respond not only to touch but to commands sent via Twitter. The day will then conclude with a silent disco with dj sets from Actress and other special guests. Great to see young creatives being engaged, through mediums they already understand. If only we were young enough to participate!

Infinite Kusama at Tate Modern- Saturday 24th March 13:00-18:00. Online at: www.tate.org.uk/infinitekusama until April 15th. 15-25 years, Free.
