Karl Lagerfeld Announces Exhibition In Cuba

Vuba

Well, this proves it, doesn’t it? Karl Lagerfeld is some sort of superhuman being. 24 hours in a day? “Pssh!” the King of French mutters. Those silly little hours in the day are merely there to be crammed. This time? Well, fresh off last week’s announcement that the designer will show an photographic exhibition of his work to run during Pitti in Florence, Chanel announced this morning that there will also be an exhibition of his photography in Cuba, coinciding with the French house’s cruise show in Havana’s El Paseo del Prado next week. Under the title “Obra en Proceso/Work And Progress”, it will, as the name suggests, give an unprecedented look into Mr Lagerfeld’s process over 200 never-been-seen before photographs – a master at work, basically.

As the blurb says: “this exhibition, divided into three sections representing the designer’s main interests – fashion, architecture and landscapes – brings together more than 200 of Karl Lagerfeld’s photographs. It explores the great diversity of subjects, approaches and techniques that define the very personal and subtle interpretation that makes Karl Lagerfeld’s photography”.

The exhibition will run at the Factoria Habana in Cuba from April 28th to May 12th, 2016 as part of a month-long celebration of French culture in the Cuban capital.
