Got wood? Jean Paul Gaultier did. Trees, that is. They were on the walls, setting the scene for what was going to be a trip into the forest. But, as the old adage says, if you go down to the woods today you’re in for a big surprise. Yep, because as the show began we were presented with a cast of rather fetching woodland nymphs. But sexy. In a symphony of brown. Who knew? Think, outdoorsy – giant patchwork fur coats, bark prints, lioness hoods, a supersized backpack. A very glamorous selection of forest dwellers, to be sure – Anna Cleveland, Lindsey Wixson, Coca Rocha. Mr Gaultiers muses, in other words. Anna, in particular, did a rather nice turn as a kind of fluttering creature. Butterfly? Bird? Not important. It ended, as is tradition, with Gaultier and his bride walking down the runway to much applause. Because that’s what the spectacular Gaultier and his gang of girls do. They put on a show.
