In tune with the innovative spirit of Dior, Kim Jones has dreamt up a brand new pair of shoes that effortlessly bridge the gap between technology and trainers. Building off the bold silhouettes seen on the house’s SS24 menswear runway, six brand new, limited-edition renditions of the B9S trainer have been conceived, touching on both the back-to-the-future quality of the show and the skateboarding codes so cherished by the artistic director.
Featuring the generous width and meaty body of a Noughties-style skate shoe all wrapped up in Dior’s quintessential cannage lines, these plushy kicks have got style in spades. Graphic, quilted models are offered in either leather or satin and in soft hues of grey, beige or, an online-exclusive Day-Glo yellow. Punctuating the ‘fat laces’ of each edition is the Dior oblique motif, an iconic house symbol which was imagined by Marc Bohan in 1967. There are also three shimmery tweed versions up for grabs which are decked out with silver ‘D.I.O.R’ charms, demonstrating the art of detail and excellence so imperative to the house.
But what’s really special about these bold trainers is the NFC chip embedded into the soles of each right shoe. Scan these with your mobile device and discover a special digital product passport and certificate of authenticity via a private platform that’s unique to you. Within the exclusive space, you can also access additional info on the stages of manufacturing the B9S, and see sneak peeks of future footwear launches dreamed up by Jones.
With the B9Ss, you’ll be uniquely connected to more than just the ground beneath you. Whether you’re looking for a bit of insight into the going-ons at Dior, a piece of house history or simply a skate-inspired style update, the B9S has got your covered.
