This might be a bit depressing, but it’s very hard (if not impossible) to live up to the expectations of your parents. You’re always too lazy, too rude, and have no respect for them. Not to mention the fact they did everything way before you and ten times better. Every now and then though you get the chance to prove them wrong. Lily Rose-Depp knows what I mean. How can your parents be pissed at you getting a Chanel campaign? Not unless you usurp your mother that is. But that isn’t what this is. It’s an homage to Vanessa Paradis. Her way of saying “you are beautiful, but I’m here too!”. And Lily-Rose certainly is no stranger to the house of Chanel and King Karl. Even before this she had an eyewear campaign, numerous red carpet appearances in Chanel as well as being a permanent fixture on the front row at every show. She even made an appearance amongst the celebs who starred in the casino themed AW15 Couture show. Unfortunately we do not have multiple Chanel campaigns under our belt to show off to our parents. So instead we will settle for slathering ourselves in Chanel No.5 L’Eau when it is available on September 1st. And because we literally use any excuse to do so, we are going to raise a glass to Lily-Rose and Chanel. May you continue your blossoming relationship for many years to come.
