As we prepare to enter September, London Fashion Week looms (gird your loins girlies!). In anticipation of all the action, Fashion East announces its roster of designers for SS25.
Following the graduation of Johanna Parv and Standing Ground – founded by Michael Stewart – this season’s line-up welcomes newcomers Kitty Shukman, Loutre and Nuba alongside returnees Olly Shinder and SOS SKYN. “We couldn’t resist supporting five talents this season; a myriad of art, fantasy, queer club culture, elegance and luxury streetwear,” shares Fashion East’s co-conspirators Lulu Kennedy and Raphaelle Moore. “It’s best we don’t try and explain it, we’d rather you experience it, feel it & wear it.”
First founded by Cameron Williams at Central Saint Martins in 2020, Nuba was joined by co-creative director Jebi Labembika in 2023. Expect elegant menswear infused with the energy of south London, mixed with the design duo’s Afro-Caribbean and West African heritage. Pia Schiele’s approach at Loutre is towards conscious design. A combination of upcycled deadstock items and sustainably produced fabrics, each look is created in limited quantities to reduce waste.
Footwear designer Kitty Shukman is the mastermind behind those viral puffy Yeezy boots. At her own label, she draws inspiration from folklore and a connection to nature – collection items on the seashore and transforming them into shoe sculptures.
You’ll recognise Olly Shinder’s sexy queered-up workwear from the past two seasons at Fashion East. Returning to present his final collection for the incubator, expect him to end with a bang. Making their second appearance, artist Samara Scott and curator Tayah Leigh Barrs return to present SOS SKYN’s SS25 collection. Each look is handmade, alchemising silicone, eco-resin and salvaged seaweed into one-of-a-kind couture.
Taking place on September 13 at 6pm, stay tuned for Fashion East’s newest line-up and follow all the SS25 womenswear action as it unfolds via our Instagram stories at @10magazine and @10menmagazine.
