When the weather gets warmer and the flowers bloom like they have in recent weeks, London’s energy begins to change. Everything feels a little lighter, the spring bounces back into our step and that go-to British pessimism evaporates along with the rain stains that used to chequer the pavement. As the world around us gets that ultimate seasonal glow up, it feels like there’s no better time to take a chance, right? Chanel certainly thinks so. Launching the latest addition to its Chance perfume range this spring, Chance Eau Splendide joins the original iteration and fan-favourites Chance Eau Tendre and Chance Eau Fraîche. Created by Chanel’s in-house perfumer Olivier Polge, the perfume roots itself in a sparkling raspberry accord complimented by facets of rose and violet interwoven with rose geranium. It’s the perfect spring scent, and to celebrate it, the house is inviting fragrance enthusiasts down to, you guessed it, Chance Street in Shoreditch for an immersive and fun-filled pop-up.
Aptly taking place at The Dream Factory, the experience echoes your most fantastical, lilac-hued daydreams. Upon entry, a room lined floor-to-ceiling with LED-bordered mirrors greets you along with a new campaign featuring the face of Chance Eau Splendide, singer, composer and performer Angèle. Quoting the moods embraced by the fragrance, punters are invited to open the flap of a mirrored box depending on whether they feel magnetic, delicate, audacious or energetic, with quotes geared to inspire awaiting inside.
Looking to conjure childlike wonder? There’s a certain playfulness that finds its footing throughout, with games that offer you the chance to bag small Chance-inspired goodies. If you feel a little peckish, there’s purple and pink candy floss for the munching, whilst the whole Chanel Chance range – along with selected beauty items – are available to buy. There is also the chance to book in for a 75 minute makeup consultation coined the Chance Beauty Service and to fill a spot at the Chance Street soirée, an evening of live music, cocktails and canapés.
