Get in loser, we’re going skiing – Balenciaga style. Joining recent drops from Louis Vuitton and Fendi, the Spanish label, known for its ice-cool grit, has just announced that it’s releasing a men’s and womenswear capsule fit for any snowy terrain. Centering around innovative pieces designed for the harsh winter conditions, the offering marks the first time the label has ventured into the mountains. Low visibility? No problem. Sub-zero temperatures? Child’s play. Want to whizz down a slope as quickly as possible? These aerodynamic accessories have got you covered.
Cornerstones of the collection reflect the house’s aptitude for sport-chic pieces that feel equal parts contemporary and futuristic. Parkas and five-pocket pants have been fitted with snow skirts and developed using water-repellent ripstop fabrics so you can shred in style. Ventilation systems, battery life-saving pockets and ski-pass holders are peppered throughout, making the garments just as functional as they are stylish. For those wanting to don the collection from head-to-toe, an Alaska Boot and 3XL Ski Sneaker are also on offer, equipped with removable spiked crampons. Not one to do anything by halves, punters can also sport helmets, snowboards, skis and poles adorned with the brand’s go-to ‘B’ logo. This signature motif is repeated throughout, with gloves, beanies, scarves and thermals all sufficiently Balenciaga-fied. Red, black and grey colourways are all on offer, accommodating those who want to stand out or blend in.
Set to release on November 15, an exclusive roll-out to selected pop-ups is in the works, all to be equipped with ski-inspired installations and decor. Customers can also pre-order their garb from the official Balenciaga website here.
