10 Beauty Finds: October

So here we are, beauty fans, back with another Top Ten Beauty Chart and looking back the month of October and the favourite launches we’ve and loved. So what’s go our hearts jumping in our shirts? Read on to find out this month’s movers and shakers.

In at Number One we have Armani Dolci Makeup Blush. These are the sweetest little pocket-friendly blushes we ever did see, which isn’t surprising since they were inspired by Italian confectionery. The cute little blush sticks provide a cream to powder formula for a buildable soft matte finish and come in 5 shades: Rose, Carmel, Apricot, Cinnamon, and Mauve. Can also be used on lips and eyes for some easy makeup multitasking. Obsessed. Get yours here.

At Number Two we’re sticking with the cosmetic side of beauty life and championing Westman Atelier from the style guru and makeup artist Gucci Westman and the brand’s recent Suprême Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation launch. This is a very luxurious entry into the foundation meets skincare arena, one which feels more like a serum to apply but delivers a medium but buildable coverage and a naturally luminous finish. It feels lightweight and hydrating on skin and comes choc-full of peptides to help to even and brighten skin over time. Another little multitasker. Make it yours here!

We’re heading for a good old soak at Number Three as Tuscany-based Seed to Skin brings us The Cloud Nectar, a bubble bath like no other.  It follows their already successful Bath Nectar which contains a delectable mix of precious botanical oils. But the Cloud form delivers a sumptuous amount of foamy bubbles that leaves skin feeling soft and comes with notes of rose, neroli and jasmine that perfect for some watery lounging. Creates a bathtub of dreams. Take a dip now.

Meanwhile at Number Four we have bathing brand 39 BC – the latest brainchild of beauty and business supremo Sharmadean Reid – moving into skincare with their new The Blue Lotus Hydrogel Face Mask. To be fair, they’ve already moved into body oil after their original Oil Body Cleanser (which, by the by, also provides a good foam if used in the bath). The masks come in fused with an advanced HA complex and biomimetic peptides which is a way of saying it’s super hydrating and radiance boosting. Why Blue Lotus? Because true to the brands Ancient Egyptian inspiration, the flower was a symbol of rebirth, transformation, and renewal and woven into beauty rituals. So, it’s all a little bit Cleopatra Comin’ Atcha skincare cabinet vibes. Bathe like a queen here.

At Number Five we’re continuing the bathing brand evolution theme with Aesop and the brand new Antithesis Intense Body Cleanser (it’s a new interpretation – read replacement for – the renowned Coriander Seed Body Cleanser). The cool coriander aroma remains and it comes together with black pepper and patchouli for a fragrant blend that’s a little bit spicey and a little bit of woody in a gently foaming gel. Luxury walk-in shower not included. Lather up here!

The much-beloved independent British skincare brand Romilly Wilde swoops in to take the Number Six spot with a gentle reboot of the brand (yes, that theme keeps on rolling this month). With a longevity focus and peptide loaded – all bang on trend – it helps skin to remain resilient and defend itself against urban stressors. They’re transparent about results and test final formulas on human skin samples. Get your hands on the Peptide Longevity Serum which has shown great results on lower levels oxidatively damaged protein and higher Collagen 1 levels than on untreated samples. A brand to get behind. Back your skin now.

At Number Seven we’re back on the body care beat with one of favourite launches – and objets – of recent times: the La Bonne Brosse Body Brush 01. Oh, it’s like a little sculpture for the old salle de bain but also wonderful to use on both sensitive and dry skin for a bit of body brush and getting the lymphatic system going, especially with its glorious mix of nylon and copper bristles. The sleek glossy finish comes in a variety of colours including powder pink, cherry, and aubergine. A brush destined for fame. Get a handle on it here.

We’re getting all fragrance at Number Eight with the new launch Merit: New Wave L’Extrait de Parfum. Following on from its successful Retrospect fragrance, this really is a nouvelle vague perfume of its own: a bolder, more outstpoken kind of a vibe and a modern take on amber that still warm and sexy but also somehow lighter. With notes of pink pepper, orange flower, ylang ylang, incense, patchouli, tobacco, vanilla and woods this is the work of two noses: Dominique Ropion and Meabh McCurtin. This is really one to get your nose into this autumn. Delight your senses here!

They eyes have it at Number Nine with Ilia and their new Beauty Thru Line Waterproof Eyeliner. A creamy formula, it glides on, smudges well but then doesn’t budge for a good 12 hours or more. It comes in a great offer of 10 shades with a mix of shimmer and matte finishes and a nifty little addition to a make-up bag. Indulge here.

And at Number Ten, please forgive us for bringing the C-word up in conversation with such esteemed companions but there’s no getting away from the fact that Christmas is not far away and the limited edition offers for the festive season are out now – and you don’t want you to miss your favourites and end up crying into your stocking. The OG Beauty Advent Calendars – Liberty and Space NK – are still available (for now but don’t dilly dally). And the ultimate yuletide candle is back: yes the Diptyque Sapin has returned to stores so you can keep that fragrant flame alive and this year there’s even a limited-edition scented wax oval  so that even your wardrobe and undies drawer can smell Christmassy. Ah, it gives a whole new meaning to lucky pants. Tick it off the list now.
