If there was one thing to take away from the AW26 shows, it’s that brands are betting big on tailoring. Suits were everywhere. In plenty of different shades and guises, yes, but the overarching mood was to smarten things up. We thought it would be a good time, then, to ask some of menswear’s brightest talents to pose for 10 in their own suits – some chose looks of their own design, while others rooted through their wardrobes to find their beloved formal gear from other brands. Aren’t they a dapper bunch?

Priya Ahluwalia is well versed in making men look great. Since launching her namesake label in 2018, tailoring has been a central pillar to her collections – whether it’s shirting that bursts in glorious print and colour, or slick suit jackets accented with sportswear piping that snakes around the torso
Tell us about your suit.
Today I’m wearing the Akinrinde suit from our AW25 collection. I love this suit; it’s a deep chocolate brown and its moleskin feels really rich in texture. It’s got an applique ‘A’ on tonal organza at the sleeve hem, and the jacket is made from end-of-roll repurposed fabric.
How did you come to own it?
I designed it and made it for one of our collections. I generally wear my own brand the majority of the time.
Why do you like wearing it?
I love wearing it because I feel quite confident in it. I think a suit is one of those outfits that is actually easy to put on, but you look like you have really made an effort. It makes a statement wherever you wear it.
Where do you wear the suit?
I’ve worn it to dinners and parties, but I’ve also separated the pieces and worn them with other things from my wardrobe. The look is very versatile.
How should a great suit make you feel?
Like it’s a piece of armour. It should make you feel confident in the scenarios in which you are wearing it. If it’s for work, it should make you feel confident when you walk into meetings.If it’s for a night out, it should make you feel chic. What I really like about this suit is that it makes you feel like you are the main character, which is nice amid the mix of your day-to-day life.
