Roksanda Opens A Concept Store On Sloane Street

A Roksanda concept store has landed in London, and it’s a welcome new stop on the capital’s luxury circuit. Open from today until June 8, the three-month residency at 171-172 Sloane Street turns the address into a temporary home for the designer’s wider creative universe.

Presented with the assistance of interior architect Bradley Taylor, the space is curated by Roksanda Ilinčić herself, alongside four other female collaborators who lend their specialist expertise to shaping the store. Béton Brut, the London-based collectible design gallery, brings an edit of “rare, architect-led furniture” to the space, pieces that sit somewhere between functional design and sculpture. Artist Gabriele Beveridge, on the other hand, works to “deepen the store’s cultural resonance” with a series of sculptural and conceptual artworks installed throughout. Then there’s Grandirosa, the floral atelier which animates the space with carefully composed arrangements, and Somerset-based wellness and fragrance house Commune which introduces its scent-led rituals. Together, the effect is layered and considered – less shop, more curated environment you’ll want to spend time in.

The point was to reimagine the potential of what retail can be. “This concept store is not simply about fashion. It is about creating a space where art, design and craftsmanship coexist. I have always been inspired by architecture and by women who shape culture. This concept store allows us to express the Roksanda universe in its fullest form – as a living, breathing environment,” says Ilinčić.

Housed amongst the collectible furniture and artworks, shoppers can expect to find the fresh-from-the-atelier SS26 collection which also marked the designer’s 20th anniversary. Inspired by the work of British modernist sculptor Barbara Hepworth, the collection translated her fascination with negative space into clothing through curved cut-outs and sculptural silhouettes. Laser-cut bonded velvet created precise openings across the body, while raffia was used to build voluminous wired skirts and textured stoles that moved with dramatic ease. Elsewhere, ballooning trousers and panniered crinoline gowns balanced theatrical volume with surprising wearability – a reminder of Ilinčić’s long-standing talent for modern grandeur.

But the experience doesn’t stop at ready-to-wear. The store also boasts a suite of Sloane Street exclusive bespoke services – think colour customisation, made-to-order gowns and bridal pieces. Here, clients will also be granted early access to upcoming collections, alongside a closer, more personal encounter with the brand.

Over the course of its three-month residency, the store will also serve as a platform for a programme of activations and events with a series of partners, drawing guests into the creative and bespoke world of Roksanda. A personally curated selection of books, chosen by Ilinčić herself, will also be available for purchase.

Sloane Street’s latest luxury addition comes by way of the beloved London designer who has spent two decades refining her sculptural approach to dressing, offering a new way to step inside the world of Roksanda.
