Louis Vuitton Gets Artsy With New York Exhibition Space

Louis Vuitton is carving its own space in New York’s art world. From 28 October to 16 November, Espace Louis Vuitton New York – a limited time exhibition space – is debuting with a display showcasing French painter Gustave Caillebotte. The two paintings on show are Young Man at His Window as well as Oarsman in a Top Hat, both created in the 1870s, a rare sight as these works are seldom paired together. Collaborating with the Musée d’Orsay, the J. Paul Getty Museum and supported by LVMH, the exhibit emphasises the house’s dedication to sustaining and championing its cultural heritage. Zara And SR_A Are Back For Round Two

Zara has just released its second collaboration with British designer Samuel Ross MBE – a sophomore SR_A Engineered by Zara collection, this time with an increasingly refined and nuanced vision. Focusing on practical pieces functional for any setting, the pieces root themselves in themes of movement, fluidness and strength. Through SR_A (short for Samuel Ross Atelier), Ross puts his own spin on the norms of industrial design. In this collection, he reinterprets time-honoured silhouettes, like slashing a hoodie down its front to form a deep V, elevated with a fuzzy, shearling-like lining. Accessories, like shoes and bags, have been created with practicality in mind, sporting structured shapes that are prepared to be worn time and time again. Velcro strips, reinforced seams and baggy silhouettes appear throughout to transform pieces into clobber that would look as good in the wilderness as it does on the city streets. Discover more here.

Vivienne Westwood Heads To The Garden of Eden For SS26

Vivienne Westwood’s SS26 collection is Earth reimagined as the Garden of Eden. Shot in Paris near the Champs-Élysées, nature takes centre stage with florals and natural fabrics. Tailored suits and dresses nod to 1950s silhouettes – intentionally rumpled and creased – while miniskirts and micro-shorts add a playful edge. Sharp eveningwear closes the collection with a rough yet deliberate touch. The “Paradise” print, created by artist Dominic Myatt, runs throughout, showing the collection’s underlying tension: a ruined utopia – paradise lost. See more here.
