Fendi Kicks Off Centenary Celebrations With Film Celebrating The New Peekaboo Soft Small Bag

Kicking off its 100th year in the high fashion biz with a bang, Fendi is celebrating its latest creation – the new Peekaboo Soft Small bag – via a special video project directed by Emir Eralp, with creative direction by Antonio Moscogiuri.

Shot in the heart of Rome, the film follows models Grace Valentine, Abény Nhial and Lara Menezes as they find simple yet meaningful moments of connection between themselves, the bag and the historic city, in their everyday. The understated elegance of these scenes is heightened by the soulful electronic track Little Man by Swedish band Little Dragon. Lead vocalist Yukimi Nagano’s mesmerising voice weaves through the synth-pop melody, adding a layer of warmth and intimacy to the narrative. The house describes the evocative single as “an iconic sound for a new icon”, reflecting the innovative spirit of the Peekaboo Soft Small bag, which is showcased being worn over the shoulder, across the body, or carried by its handles throughout the film.

Speaking on the sumptuous, calf-leather accessory, which first debuted on the SS25 ready-to-wear runway, Silvia Venturini Fendi, artistic director of accessories and menswear, says, “The Peekaboo Soft Small bag has perfect proportions. It’s like a Baguette bag, you can fit a lot in it, everything you need. They stretch, move, expand and contract depending on what you put inside. That’s the secret: soft small bags are never really small, they’re fake small.” She adds, “I like the idea that this bag shows off its interior even more. The leather is soft and it’s like it’s smiling when you open it. This bag smiles. It’s more accessible, more revealing of what’s inside. It’s like an identity card for the person wearing it”. Out now, you can shop the Fendi Peekaboo Soft Small here.
