Haeckels collaborates with Pangaia and C16 Biosciences

Margate-based beauty brand Haeckels continues to innovate with a reimagining of its signature seaweed soap block. Working alongside Pangaia, the brand utilises C16 Biosciences’ Palmless Torula oil in replacement of palm oil. Palmless brings a more sustainable, but still rich in antioxidants, alternative to palm oil which is largely used in the beauty industry despite its farming causing destruction in biodiversity, wildlife ecosystems and human life. To bring attention to this environmental impact, the soap is aromatically crafted with natural oils to recreate the smell of burning rainforests. The soap is also packaged in cotton and bamboo packaging. Shop here.

House of Voltaire’s New Limited-Edition Prints by Linder and Ashish

Known for its support of artistic and community programs, the House of Voltaire brings together artist Linder and fashion designer Ashish to create a triptych, titled Three Goddesses of the Silver Screen.

The two creatives were inspired by the portraiture of powerful and heroic women in 1960s-80s magazines that still depicted a level of melancholy from the tragic side of fame. In their rendition, they explore themes of queering popular culture and celebrate the strength in marginalised bodies that weren’t represented in the media of the past. “Growing up in India in the ‘80s and ‘90s, there weren’t a lot of icons for the queer community, which in itself wasn’t very visible – but perhaps we instinctively recognised a little of ourselves in these defiant, glamorous women who fought for recognition and happiness, despite the odds,” said Ashish.

The collaborative prints of high-octane colour and sequins feature Indian actresses Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi and Meena Kumari.

Craig Green Celebrates 10 years

Craig Green’s joint AW23 & SS24 collection – marking a decade since the designer launched his eponymous label – re-forms language and movement through imaginative structures and shapes. To commence, models cradle dismantled mannequin-like objects in corresponding colourways to their two-piece sets. Delving into Craig Green’s world, mirrored groupings of models wear clothing that stands for themselves (quite literally). Bulbous silhouettes drape around models’ frames and hats and scarfs are conjoined in warm-weather pieces covering the face. The structures are embellished with stripes, embroidered with flower patterns, and strings of stitching comes draped to the ground. Despite the bold colours and prints, the stoic groupings leave a stillness and sense of contemplation.
