Calling all the It-girls! You’re newest go-to shoe just dropped and it comes all wrapped in a pretty satin bow… and speckled with metal spikes too. We’re talking about the Valentino Garavani Rockstud Ballerinas, a punk-inspired little ballet flat newly unveiled as part of the maison’s Urban Riviera Fall 2023 collection. Adorned with endearing, coquette-style bows, metallic studded elastic straps and imbued with a rebellious personality, the flat was first unveiled in 2010; in 2023, it’s rendered in everything from Ivory to crystal-encrusted leopard print, as essential as it is unexpected. There are satin, patent leather and Toile Iconographe variations available too, in black, brown, rose cannelle, Pink PP and glimmering iterations, echoing Pierpaolo Piccioli’s desire to bridge disparate inspirations and create a refined balance between bourgeois elegance and contemporary taste.
