Whether its your child’s first words, your wedding vows or even the closing sentence of your divorce papers – these are the few words that should stay with you forever, those pinnacle moments that withstand the test of time. But why clog up that brain of yours with that trivial stuff when you can have a rolodex of Sex and The City references engrained into your noggin. A mantra we tend to live by is Carrie Bradshaw frantically exclaiming “fashion is my cardio!” at the suggestion she should begin e-shopping. Who has the pocket money to piss away on a gym membership when you can blast some Kate Bush through your AirPods and start running up those hills? And by hills we mean Regent and Oxford Street. We’ve noticed a lot of Fitbits cropping up in Ten Towers recently. No oysters have been ditched in lieu of a walk into work just quite yet, but certain team members are checking to see how many steps they can fit in on their lunch time darts over to Dover Street Market. Lucky for any shopaholics in the big smoke, you will definitely reach your 10K step goal by paying a visit to these three new retail hot-spots, which have cropped up across the capital.
Louis Vuitton, 190 – 192 Sloane Street, SW1X 9QX
Louis Vuitton has refurbished its Sloane Street store in a lick of technicolored brilliance. Stocking both women’s, men’s and of course lux-leather goods, be prepared to immerse yourself in the blazing 80s glamour of Ghesquire’s world. Or equally head down stairs to see Virgil Abloh’s Wizard of Oz inspired debut collection for the house. The lower-ground ‘Men’s Universe’ offers a digital sneaker personalisation service, where you can splash your signature stroke of paint onto the cult ‘Run Away’ LV sneaker. Whilst a bespoke experience is up for grabs with customers being able to fit and customise their pieces, bringing “a couture touch to the house’s ready-to-wear excellence.”
Sergio Rossi, 16 Mount Street, W1K2RH
Mayfair’s Mount Street has transformed into an epicentre of London’s brightest talents. Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha and Roksanda all house flagship stores on the glisteningly paved street. Now they can count in Sergio Rossi as a new neighbour. With the store’s concept created by architect Marco Costanzi and furniture provided exclusively by Cristina Celestino, the Mount Street store offers an intimate shopping experience that encapsulates the ultra-feminine craftsmanship that has come to define the boutique.
Balenciaga, 203-204 Sloane Street, SW1X 9QX
Demna Gvasalia’s imprint on the fashions of today is undeniable. If we got a quid for every single influencer we saw at fashion week in a pair of Triple-S sneakers, the EuroMillions draw would look like petty cash. Now the Georgian designer is stomping his way from the brand’s flagship store to Sloane Street, to Balenciaga’s brand spanking new second store in the capital. What used to house a Ermenegildo Zegna store is now lined in Balenciaga embossed carpet in a shade of aquarium gravel blue. The store’s two floors are fitted with metal shelving and conveyor rails. Think Yo! Sushi on steroids. The brand is releasing a special edition ‘London’ leather Balenciaga tote bag in celebration of the store’s opening, but be quick, there’s only 30 available. We don’t know what are bound to sell out faster, these totes, or the Crunchy California Roll at Yo! Sushi on a Blue Monday.
