I didn’t grow up in Toronto in the 80’s, hell I wasn’t even alive in the 80’s. But looking at Dsquared2’s Resort 19 Collection I get the reference to the twin’s youth. Having lived in Toronto at one point myself, I see It. It has this feeling that just says “Ah yes, that feels slightly Canadian, a bit soft (us Canadians are gentle creatures) and slightly kooky”, meets the Italian side of their adult life. A mixing of past and present in an “I’m sexy and I know it” way. The twins do leather very well and Resort is no exception, offering both the ladies and gents numerous options. If you aren’t sweating your ass off in a leather mini dress are you really living your best life? The answer is no. This is the fifth season that the brand has shown Mens and Womenswear together and it works so well- there are similarities and understandings of a story across both, but still a separation between the DSquared2 guy and girl and their specific style. You know who they are, and they will want to wear this. Dsquared2 is a brand that will never not give you exactly what you wanted and expected. We like that. We love consistency and it’s rare in these days of constant change. Fun fact- the prints throughout the collection are actually Dean and Dan as punk teens, Rock n roll onwards.
