Versace: Ready-to-wear SS17

Ever wanted to see what fashion looks like, and by fashion, we mean old school, high voltage, supermodel wattage fashion? Well allow us to direct your gaze towards Donatella’s latest collection for the House of Versace. And fashion rules in the house of Versace. Well it is her house, her rules after all. And what rules in her house? Sex. Not actual, physical sex, please drag your minds out of the gutter, we’re talking about sex appeal. This was a show of dresses made for the dance floor. I would say any dance floor, but the Versace woman does not dance on just any dance floor. Parachute silks were fashion into slinky numbers, with drawstrings hems that pulled to create volume, and an illusion of volume. Long beaded numbers danced in the spotlight, reflecting the spotlight, like a disco ball above a mirrored dance floor. There was an athletic element to this, well dancing is the only pleasurable form of physical exertion, that came through in paper thin parkas and high waisted, tight on the verge of indecency trousers, in a swirl of jewel toned print that resembled the molten wax in a lava lamp. Silk was layered and slit, appearing almost chaste, till the first strut. Well you know what they say about Catholic schoolgirls. And Donatella was definitely one of those. What else would you expect?
