Yellow. Are we sniffing a Milanese theme? Because there was lots of the colour here, the latest offering from Manuel Facchini’s Byblos. A symphony of the stuff. There was lemon yellow, a darker, almost mustard shade, flashes of something brighter. Which made it all very cheery. Yellow’s a happy colour, non? Let’s call it sunny. And, if we are to tenuously continue on with what we will meteorological train of thought (bare with us) – amongst all that sunny yellow were a few clouds. But not those miserable little grey things, no, pretty embroidered cloud embellishments that cropped up throughout the collection, alongside an similar abstract print in a rainbow of colour. They called it a cloud story. We’re calling them the Byblos weather girls. And the silhouette? As Mr Fachinni is so good at, it was super feminine. Dresses that came in at the waist and flared at the hem, trails of coloured tassels that swished as the models walked, short little biker jackets. And all ready to walk straight off the catwalk, out the door and into the night.
