Sometimes we find ourselves waking up unexpectedly overcome with the urge to make an effort. A little extra. We’re sure you can relate – when you feel the need to present yourself in a way that portrays your uplifting random confidence and energy, before it suddenly disappears again and you go back to hating everything. But it’s just a Tuesday morning. There is no apparent reason to raise your game. The most exciting part of your day will be spent selecting your morning Pret pastry. So how does one look extra fabulous while maintaining a perfectly effortless aura suitable for a somewhat average day? Brunello Cucinelli’s SS17 collection. A sandy hued array presented to us yesterday evening at his Milan showroom. The looks were relaxed, comfortable. Clothes fit for everyday. Beige, but not in the dull sense. Yes, the palette was muted, but the contrasting textures and finishes elevated each piece. The tone of the collection livened up by metallic accents in the form of gleaming silver python bags, sporty gold bombers, patent silver sandals, sequin embroidered ostrich skirts. Clothes that give you a bit more, but never allow you to look overdressed. A sort of understated statement, if you will.
