BREAKING NEWS: Another week, another exit – fashion’s game of musical chairs continues. In news announced this morning, Anthony Vaccarello has been announced as leaving Versus Versace. In a statement, Donatella said, “While I’m sad to see him leave the Versace family, I wish Anthony Vaccarello tremendous success with his next chapter”. Discussing the previous three designers that have helmed the Italian brand’s younger sister (including Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson) she continued, “I appreciated the chance to work with each of these three designers, and I enjoyed seeing what they brought to a brand I truly love. I’m proud that Versus can be such a remarkable global platform for emerging design talent.” But fear not, Vaccarello afficiendos, the news seems to only confirm the persistent rumour that he is to be Hedi Slimane’s successor at Saint Laurent, for which he will apparently close his eponymous label to concentrate on. Stay tuned.
