Sonia Rykiel: Ready-to-wear AW16

Julie de Libran has established her Sonia Rykiel woman – or rather, women. But this season, she took us out of the shop (where only so many women can fit) and into the Beaux Arts round the corner, to get a few more ladies in the Rykiel mood. The collection was an ode to women, to Rykiel women, old and new – Le Visages – a new print created by the artist Maggie Cardelus, patterned dresses with drawings of Sonia, Nathalie and Lola Rykiel, alongside those of Julie de Libran and the artist herself. It was a celebration of the community of women at the heart of the house. The rest of the show had the same feel, in slender dresses and coats and kicked-out flared trousers, tiered seventies dresses and chubby fur coats with palm tree brooches. Because, as de Libran said, we may be in Paris now, but who isn’t dreaming of a holiday. Here here.
