Alexander McQueen Biopic In The Works

scan02.tif

What comes after the book, the exhibition, the stage play and a petition to have your face on a bank note? Well, the movie, duh. Apparently, anyway – according to movie boff website, Deadline, the late, great Brit-designer Alexander McQueen’s story is set to be told upon the silver screen. Slated to begin filming at the end of the year, rumour is that it will be helmed by Andrew Haigh (gays will know him as auteur of boy-on-boy indie TV show, Looking) and written by award-winning writer, Chris Urch, who’ll apparently be working from Blood Beneath the Skin, a biography of McQueen written by Andrew Wilson. Which gets 4.5 stars on Amazon from 36 reviews. Which means it must be good – in the power of internet opinion we trust. Let’s hope the film is too – a fitting legacy for a true fashion renegade.
