London Burning: Portraits from a Creative City

Dominic has been looking at new flats this week. One particular advertisement said that you would be sharing with four creatives. “You know what that means,” he said. “Four heroin addicts”. However, had he looked up from his computer and on to the pages of London Burning: Portraits from a Creative City, he would have seen that this is not quite the case. In fact, this book shows off what a raft of talent our fair city holds – “creative personalities young and old, highbrow and populist, Establishment figures and newbies, set against the variegated scenes they inhabit”, say the publishers, Thames and Hudson. Turns out there’s lots of very clever people in London (who knew?) – like Nicholas Serota, Director of Tate, Antony Gormley, Eddie Peake, Matthew Slotover, the founder of Frieze Art Fair, Vogue Editor Alexandra Schulman, Grayson Perry and many more, all photographed within their favourite creative hotspots. We’re coming over all inspired.

London Burning: Portraits from a Creative City is published by Thames & Hudson and is available on October 19
