GUCCI GIVES BACK WITH UNICEF

Gucci’s new creative director Sabato de Sarno is proving himself to be quite the good samaritan – as well as a designer to be reckoned with. Continuing Gucci’s enduring support of UNICEF – the branch of the United Nations committed to providing aid to children worldwide – the luxury Italian house has donated €300,000 to the organisation’s Education Thematic Fund. By contributing, the brand is aiding the continuation of significant programmes which allow vulnerable communities to access the fundamental right of education.

JOHN ALEXANDER SKELTON TAKES US TO CHURCH

On Tuesday evening, 10 Team had the pleasure of attending John Alexander Skelton‘s CXVI showcase, held in the eerily stunning church of St Bartholomew The Great. Inspired by the mystical and ethereal music collective This Mortal Coil, models of all ages walked to their resonant sonics, candles in hand. Specifically focused on the group’s first album It’ll End In Tears, an eclectic assortment of loosely fitting suits, button-up jackets with pops of red and mustard were on offer. Nodding to Skelton’s signature, history-influenced aesthetic with a distinct air of religiosity and Shakespearean aesthetics, the collection was another strong addition to the London-based designer’s refined creative language.

FENG CHEN WANG REIMAGINES CONVERSE CLASSICS

Converse and Feng Chen Wang are a natural partnership. With the London-based designer showcasing a reassembled Chuck 70 concept shoe as part of her SS19 collection, the duo have cemented their collaboration with a 2-in-1 Ox cut, low-rise version of the iconic shoe. Spliced, diced and reformed, the distressed sneaker emphasises the theme of duality, featuring a paired canvas overlay, double-layered foxing tape and modified outsole. The shoe will make its runway debut at Paris Fashion Week later this month and will be available in two muted colourways from Converse’s website from February 6.

DIOR COLLABS WITH JAPANESE SCULPTOR ON MONSTROUS CAPSULE

Dior’s Kim Jones and leading Japanese sculptor Otani Workshop have joined forces to create a unique capsule collection featuring a small, green monster designed by the artist. Featuring a range of sweaters, T-shirts and bombers, the offering echoes the casual yet elevated spirit of the French house’s SS24 collection. The signature Dior Oblique pops up throughout with each piece drawing on a warm palette of burgundy, pink, red and orange. Accessories are not an oversight with new B33 High Top shoes and distressed baseball caps with spell-out Dior lettering also on offer. The exclusive offering will be on display in Dior boutiques.

TAKE A CHANCE ON CHANEL

Chanel have just given their Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Toilette a fresh coat of paint, combining the fresh air of the original version with the depth of an Eau de Parfum. With Olivier Poldge, Chanel’s go-to perfumer, ensuring the fragrance doesn’t lose its saccharine charm, the new offering showcases a complex and elegant scent layered with teak wood and amber. The release is joined by a limited-edition set of perfumed hand creams entitled Chance, Chance Eau Tendre and Chance Eau Fraîche – each of which reflects the flowery accents of their namesake fragrances.
