No longer a rumour. Actual fact. Hedi Slimane has returned to the Maison he left back in 2000 as Artistic Director of Menswear, to assume the position of Creative Director. Received a press release via email this morning and everything! Being huge fans of Slimane’s photography work, we were slightly saddened by the concept of this creative outlet falling onto the back burner, but YSL have begun with something of a rest assured, hush now, statement. ‘In Parallel with this new position, he will continue to pursue his career in photography’. HOW EXCITING! CAPITAL LETTERS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. What an incredible platform for the designers unique vision. We’ll be extremely interested to see how his great success within these two fields, continue to run parallel to one another, and perhaps collide? Show seasons about to end, and suddenly we’re desperately excited about the next one!
