Marking a decade at the helm of the Paris-based brand, Glenn Martens’ AW24 Y/Project collection takes shape as a full-on family (and friend) affair.
Presented via a look book filled from cover to cover with familiar faces who’re close to the brand, the celebratory mood of the offering is palpable. Sporting colossal coats, subversive denim, Shibari-print dresses and lovely chiffon drapes, the cast includes pop princess Charli XCX and rapper Tyga amongst others. Swiss stylist Ursina Gysi, known not just for her image work alongside Martens’, but for her own personal street style, dons a huge duvet-like parka in crinkle-washed denim with a draped top that’s connected to a long skirt. Interview Magazine’s editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg exhibits a classic pair of slouchy, mid wash jeans and square-toe dress shoes with a warped, chocolate brown shearling-lined coat, while Purple Magazine’s co-founder Olivier Zahm strikes a power pose in fluffy, tartan hoodie with sporadic zips and pleated wide leg jeans. Supermodel Irina Shayk wears a velvet blazer with an attached undershirt and a flimsy gossamer skirt, calling to a close a series of veiled suits and dresses. Even Glenn’s own father models a few pieces from the offering.
All shot by French photographer and frequent collaborator Arnaud Lajeunie, it’s a terrific collection chock-a-block with want-to-wear clothes and great people. Happy 10 years Glenn, and here’s to 10 more!
