Walter Chiapponi is the new creative director of Blumarine!
Following the recent departure of Nicola Brognano, this morning it was announced that Chiapponi will take the helm of the house, and is set to show his debut collection for Blumarine during Milan Fashion Week this coming February.
Chiapponi most recently was at Tods, where he headed up the brand’s women’s and men’s collections from October 2019 until July of this year. A former student of the European Institute of Design, his fashion career began at Alessandro Dell’Acqua, followed by posts at some of the world’s biggest houses, including Givenchy, Valentino, Gucci, Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta.
“I am delighted to have been appointed creative director of an iconic Italian brand that has outlined over time an idea of femininity that is defined by lightness and creativity,” said Chiapponi in a statement. “The possibility of contributing to establishing a new phase for Blumarine is for me an opportunity to embrace new thrilling and important horizons, to expand my vision and to restore sense to artistic expression.”
