Travis Scott, he who traps hard, has joined forces with Saint Laurent to bring us a mixtape of his favourite tracks. And when we say tape, we do of course mean vinyl – because if you don’t listen to your music on a record player, are you even listening to it? Call it somewhat of a last hurrah for Parisian super-boutique Colette, who before closing their doors, announced their final collaboration with Saint Laurent and will be stocking the limited edition exclusive vinyl, produced by 12on12 by Flaunt Magazine.
So what can we expect from the release? Well, word has it that it will feature the works of those who inspire and entertain Scott – Kanye West, James Blake, Frank Ocean and Bon Iver, to name but a few. Speaking on the release, Mr. Scott provided the following cryptic, and undeniably moving message: “may Cactus Jack and Saint Laurent dance together forever”. What’s he referring to? The apple schnapps typically found at Tesco for under a fiver? The retired WWE wrestler? Who knows – we’ll give it a listen and get back to you.
