So, while sunning myself on one of many Greek isles, who should I run into but the gorgeous David Downton and family. Not wanting to waste an oppurtunity like this, we decided to put in some training before he takes up his residency in Claridges. The results of the gorgeous man’s labours are below, lifted from his Vogue blog, with a few extra behind the scenes snaps from me. Enjoy!
A PERFECT 10 (http://www.vogue.co.uk/blogs/david-downton)
For the last five years, initially by accident and latterly more or less by design, my family and I have spent a few weeks each summer in Greece with Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou and her clan. Aside from her day job as editor-in-chief of the über cool 10 magazine, Sophia is a creative director at Antonio Berardi, Elie Saab, Roland Mouret and Victoria’s Secret. A crowded enough CV you might think, but Sophia -pandemic that she is – is about to launch her first capsule collection, Perfect 10, for Pringle (expect a lot of black). The lady needs a holiday.
A holiday of course is no time to relax sartorial standards, and Sophia’s luggage overflows with Balenciaga and Berard, Aläia and Pucci, along with a dozen or so pairs of shoes (flip flops may be worn on the beach, but never to it), that would induce a nose bleed in your average island hopper. There is nothing pretentious in this; dressing well for Sophia is a form of relaxation and since she wears designer clothes as a second skin, they never seem out of place – which, now that I think about it, may be as good a definition of style as any other.

Just laying back casually on some stairs. Not posing or anything. Noooo!
The divine David concentrating really really hard!
The artist and his Greek muse. Love it!
