British Fashion Council have just announced the nominees for the 2023 edition of fashion’s version of The Oscars – The Fashion Awards. Taking place on Monday December 4 at London’s decadent Royal Albert Hall with support from sponsors Getty Images and Royal Salute, the event celebrates all things culture, entertainment and – of course – fashion. Revisiting the year’s most influential appointments, collections and stories, the star-studded evening has become a beacon for showcasing the wide-reaching influence of British creativity.
Covering a wide range of categories, the doled-out awards include Model of The Year, British Menswear Designer, British Womenswear Designer, New Establishment Menswear and New Establishment Womenswear. An assortment of key press and buyers – including Olivia Singer, Stavros Karelis and 10’s very own Sophia Neophitou – were invited to shortlist the nominees for the designer awards, with a separate panel for Model of The Year. For the first time ever, the public will have the pleasure of voting on who they think should take home this coveted award, previously held by Bella Hadid and Adut Akech. The nominees will now be presented to a Voting Committee of 1,000 industry leaders who will subsequently decide on the winners.
The highly coveted Designer of the Year and BFC Foundation Award are set to be announced in November, with other accolades such as the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, Outstanding Achievement Award and Leader of Change also revealed on the night.
