Category is: Red Carpet American Designer Realness. Or, alternatively: our CFDA red (blue) carpet round up. An awards ceremony which is, unsurprisingly, our favourite type of awards ceremony – fashion… duh. We’re starting with Eva Chen. We love Eva, we love Sander Lak (the designer behind Sies Marjan, and this gown) and we didn’t know we loved orange but… now we do. Also choosing a luminous hue was Bella Hadid in Off-White who is giving us 1980s secretary who also might happen to be a Bond girl in this hot pink mini skirt suit. Hot damn indeed. Demna Gvasalia wore either Balenciaga or Vetements, we’re not entirely sure, but this is exactly what Jack and I would choose to wear to an awards ceremony. And we are very chic. PLUS that little fur CFDA scarf and the t-shirt with his name printed on it? Ob-sessed. Haim are collectively wearing Diane Von Furstenberg, and not just any DVF, but brand spanking new Resort 18. How about that for on the pulse? Side note – as the youngest of three boys I secretly wish me and my brothers were in a band and looked as purdy as these three ladies. Next is Hari Nef wearing sheer floral Coach number and not much else, which is a statement we very much enjoy – free the nipple ya-di-ya-di-yah-yah. A little more covered , in fact almost entirely covered save for her face, Gigi Hadid wore The Row, which in turn made her look like an angel descended from the heavens. Fellow VS girl Lily Aldridge is giving us nude illusion in this Jason Wu number and, in case it wasn’t quite clear, we love everything about nudity – real or fake. Julia Nobis naturally chose Calvin Klein by Raf Simons, being somewhat of a poster girl for the night’s bigger winner. Which, officially, makes her look award winning. There you go. Chloe Sevigny, who always looks so good at these events she might have to start giving someone else a chance on these things, wore long time pals Proenza Schouler. No words other than: stunning, gorgeous, fabulous etc. etc. Imaan Hammam made the brave choice to rock a double-denim ensemble. Safe hands though – it was by the king of double-denim himself – Adam Selman. Is it just me or does “girls just wanna have fun” come to mind after seeing this? Either way, it’s got a train. We’re sold.
