Who doesn’t love a wedding? Simone Rocha’s show leant into nuptial traditions and lore. The show served a wedding feast to remember. Men’s pyjama sets and women’s crinolined gowns were were literally ‘iced’ with garlands of tulle and bows of satin ribbon. A true labour of love, you couldn’t help but delight in the craftsmanship lavished on these pieces – it was like watching the haute couture version of the TV show Is it Cake?
Every bride or groom needs something blue Rocha offered it with taffeta tracksuits, festooned with lush rosettes of fabric. As for something new, Rocha’s pearl-encrusted Crocs collaboration should get the tills ringing come SS24. And forget about catching the bouquet, why not wear it? The most romantic pieces came with red roses trapped within a veil of tulle.
