A beautiful opening to Roksanda’s AW17 collection – a long blue dress with matching belt and boots. And not just any blue, but the blue that Pantone created, alongside his friends and collaborators, to celebrate the life of the late, great Richard Nicoll. Nicoll Blue. An emotional moment – the week has left his presence much missed. And where the blue ended, the colour for this season was red. From the lacquered runway to the curtain that was the backdrop, the colour red wove its way through the clothes too. “Blood orange,” said Jack, but I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about. And what of the clothes? It was all in the way they moved. Slinky and flowing, but cinched at the waist with obi-type belts for definition. My favourite look? The silky red ankle length number with a scarf tie and discreet slit at the front. Red usually signifies stop, or danger, but here it was saying go. Straight to the shops to buy it all. Well, when it comes out, that is. Too early to queue?
